How to Tackle Common Hair Problems at Home

Beautiful, shiny hair, enhances your appearance, and sets the tone for your look and always leaves a good impression. Hair experts say that those who have long, healthy hair feel happier, more youthful, and confident. Nobody wants to go out with frizzy, dry, or dull hair. However, factors including stress, hormonal imbalance, unhealthy diet, poor sleep, and overuse of dyes can lead to hair problems.

Hair problems are common but should be addressed before they cause extensive damage to your hair. Here are home remedies for hair fall and other hair problems:

  1. Hair Fall

Hair fall has become a common hair problem. Factors like stress, hormonal imbalance, or frequent use of hair styling products can damage the hair and result in hair loss.

You can use hair care products that contain tea tree oil, which helps to fight hair fall by renewing the scalp and hair. You can also massage your scalp and hair with coconut milk as it contains magnesium that is required to strengthen the hair strands and prevent hair loss. Magnesium also contains anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, which can prevent scalp infections.

  2. Split Ends

Split ends happen when the ends of your hair become dry, brittle, and splits into two or three partitions. Frequent use of hair straightener, over-brushing your hair, or lack of good conditioner can cause split ends.

Trimming your hair every 3 to 4 weeks can prevent split ends. You can also use split end serums that help you restore broken and brittle hair strands and make them hydrated and healthy. You can apply papaya and yogurt mixture to get rid of split ends. Take 1.5 cup papaya and half cup yogurt. Mash the papaya into a paste and add yogurt into it. Apply that mixture to your hair, leave it for 45 to 50 minutes, and then wash your hair. Papaya contains essential vitamins and minerals, which help to prevent split ends.

  3. Dry Hair

Dry hair occurs when the hair does not have enough oil or sebum. Sebum is the oil produced by the scalp and other glands of the body. If your hair does not have enough sebum, the layers of your hair strand become dry and are vulnerable to damage. Washing your hair with hard water or frequently shampooing your hair can also lead to dry hair.

You should do hot oil massage on your hair and scalp and use mild shampoos that contain moisturizing conditioner to treat dry hair.

  4. Dandruff

Dandruff is another common hair problem. Certain factors, like hair infection, poor diet, and dryness, can cause dandruff.

Regularly oiling your hair can prevent dandruff. The oil keeps your hair nourished. Massage your scalp for 15 to 20 minutes before shampooing your hair. Make sure to use an anti-dandruff shampoo. You can use fenugreek seed powder and lemon juice mixture to remove dandruff. Take 3 teaspoons of lemon juice and 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seed powder and mix them well.

Apply this mixture to your scalp, leave it for 20 to 25 minutes, and then wash your hair. Lemon juice contains vitamin C and anti-fungal properties, which helps to fight dandruff and nourishes your scalp. Fenugreek has a cooling effect, which can effectively remove dandruff.

  5. Grey Hair

Grey hair occurs when the pigment cells (responsible for hair color) in your hair follicles are not being produced or die. If your hair follicle contains only a few pigment cells, your hair strand will not have melanin and become grey, sliver, or white.

Amla powder and coconut oil are effective at treating grey hair. Mix amla powder and coconut oil and heat it for a few minutes. Allow the mixture to cool down. Now, apply the mixture to your hair, leave it for 30 to 40 minutes, and then wash your hair with cold water. Amla is a natural ingredient, and it has the effect of making your hair black.

  6. Frizzy Hair

Dryness or lack of moisture can cause frizzy hair. You can use shampoos and conditioners that are specially designed for frizzy hair. You can also use a mixture of honey and milk to prevent frizzy hair. Take half cup milk and 1-2 teaspoons of honey and then mix them well. Apply the mixture to your scalp, leave it for 20 minutes, and then wash your hair. Honey and milk are natural conditioners. Honey can keep your hair conditioned, and milk can strengthen your hair.
